From the Greek geo - γεω Terra, thalpos - θάλπος heat and topos - τόπος place, GeoThopica is the name of the Italian geothermal data infrastructure created by the CNR

The revamped and advanced version of the portal, which expands the data, information and data access functionalities, derives from the activities of the numerous national and international CNR-IGG projects that have enabled the implementation of the various components of the Italian geothermal data infrastructure over time.
